Chukkar are easy to care for being a covey type bird.  Chukkar are small robust game birds displaying unusual and vividly colored plumage. Do well in captivity or released. Half the size of a pheasant with barred feathers on the sides, a bright orange beak, and a quickness about them. The black eye-stripe runs down the neck and joins beneath the throat to form a "bib". Bright red bill and feet, heavy black bars alongside the breast and touches of rich chestnut on the crown tail and underparts mark it a particular bird. Male and female look alike. Both feet and legs are free of feathers. Follow a regular game bird feeding program until they are ready for market or to be released. Get to market size in 14 weeks. Minimum order is 6.
